Last Saturday 2/5/22

A few days ago I had one of the best days of my life and I will tell you exactly why.

So I woke up at a reasonable time I believe it was around 7 and I hit the road to arrive back in Holden before 9am. When I got home I had my family waiting to see me. Hugged everyone especially my dog and we just caught up around the kitchen table. I also got a bunch of packages in with Inspire Others merchandise so it was good to see that all come together. I sent a couple of packages to some customers and then I went to the grocery store.

Had a couple more errands to run later in the day including getting a haircut. I finished all of my errands around 4pm, then I went back home and got ready to go to dinner. My family went to dinner in Worcester with my Nana and Grandpa and my Aunt and Uncle.

Not to mention that the day before, Friday, I finally bought myself a nice suit and got it tailored at my favorite store in North Hampton. So I was feeling super good about what I was wearing. Black pants, penny loafers, lavender color button down, Japanese print tie to match, and a nice suit jacket. Love dressing up.

So we arrived at this place which was extremely formal, you couldn't even use a cell phone inside. But I like that. So we sat down in a private room at 1 long table and just caught up and ate fantastic food. Octopus and pieces of Filet, sign me up all day every day. And I understand how some people can settle for sitting around a table at Pub 99 and ordering Nachos but there is just something special about food that is expensive and well presented. Someone put their love into that dish. Someone who probably has gone through years of training to perfect their craft. With every bite you take your taste buds are taken on a trip. It's special. I would much rather pay for a $40 Filet Mignon as opposed to a $15 Hamburger. Everyone should be able to experience food that beautiful and tasty.

Even when we finished eating we all just sat there and talked. I caught up with my Uncle Mike who I haven't seen in a long time, he is someone who I look up to every day of my life. I never want to forget these small moments. There is nothing more important in the world than the time you spend with your family. I wouldn't trade what I have for the world. I consider myself the luckiest man alive.

At 9:30 I left our dinner to drive back to Amherst. It was the shortest hour long drive ever. I just jammed out to songs like "Hey, Hey, What Can I Do" by Led Zeppelin and "Sweet Jane" by The Velvet Underground. I arrived back on campus at 10:30, parked my car and walked up to my dorm getting second looks and head turns every which way. I When I got inside of JA (my dorm building) I went to Grace and Alexa's room (good friends of mine) where I saw my roommate Ryan and my good friend from home who I haven't seen in a while, TJ. We just caught up with one another and took pictures. It was a happy time. Then we all walked down to my car, grace by my side, where I drove all of them to a party.

Dropped them off and drove back to campus. Rolled into bed around 1am and that was that. Actually managed to stay up later after that until everyone got back but that's not important. It was a day I will always cherish, I never want to forget these small moments.
