Dance with your demons

As perfect as you might make yourself out to be, everyone has their own problems. Whether that be anxious thoughts, depressive attitudes, overeating or whatever else you might be struggling with. Personally I have a problem with self esteem, my confidence is always low no matter how hard I work or how much I accomplish. I am becoming more confident as the days go on but there will always be that voice in the back of my head that tells me to slow my roll or maybe that I shouldn't ask that girl out because of the fear of rejection. I have come to grips with this, I understand that it is a part of me, however I will not accept that it is a part of me.

To dance with your demons means that you don't try to forget what hurt you in the past, instead you remember it in an effort to improve yourself. Another problem that people, some men my age in particular, have trouble with is that they do not want to even face their demons. Macho men who think they are stronger than their emotions do not want to acknowledge their struggles, instead they turn a blind eye. If you do not face your problems, it will only prolong your happiness and you will have trouble living a fulfilling life.

Pick up a pen and write down what you believe you have trouble doing, then write down a couple of things you can do to better grapple with this issue, not resolve it. Facing your problems is the only way to grow as an individual.
