Be aware of yourself / Update on life

Be aware

As much as I want to tell you that I have the answer to your problems, I don't. If someone were to ask me what I would say to someone who was looking for life advice I would say, "be aware of what you are doing, notice your actions." Just always be taking notes on your daily life, learn to figure out what works and what doesn't work for you.

The ability to know oneself is the most powerful thing anyone can do. To be completely in touch with your mind is a gift that only some possess. Ask yourself, evaluate your mind after you do something, note how that specific action makes you feel.

I am someone who is always thinking. Unfortunately, most of these thoughts fall under two categories, negative and proactive. Negative thoughts rot the mind but you can also use those thoughts to better yourself. To learn what works and what doesn't is essential for human growth. I am grateful that I am able to recognize what works for me and what doesn't. Just the fact that I am so overly obsessive can have its upsides.

Update on life

I have so many ideas, so many thoughts during the day, and most of the time I do not know how to sort them. I am in a bit of a rut right now, but I am working hard to get over the hump.

Now let's talk about spring break last week. It was not great, and not because I did pretty much nothing all day, more because I got too comfortable with my environment and I fell back into old, destructive habits. I am not proud of it, but learned some good lessons.

Let's stop talking about the negatives, Let's get to what made this two day trip to the cape very enjoyable. I drove down to the cape Wednesday afternoon and arrived in Dennisport around 6pm. The sun was still out which makes me very happy. I got in the back entrance to our cottage because they blocked off the front entrance and when I arrived I just sat on the deck and enjoyed the strangely beautiful weather. Noah and Lucas, my two good friends, arrived shortly after I did. We all just sat there and had a couple drinks. Then we went to this local pub, called Sea Dogs in Hyannis where I saw one of my former co-workers.We ordered greasy pub food and ate it all because why not. Then we drove back to the motel where we were staying for the night, it was gross honestly but it's all part of the experience.

Got up early in the next morning and went to The Underground Bakery in Dennis, MA. They are my favorite spot for breakfast on the cape. Their Vietnamese style Cold Brew is actually incredible. I ordered a short rib breakfast sandwich which was also out of this world. If you are ever on cape, give it a shot, you won't regret it.

After we got breakfast we went to the Cape Cod Museum of art which was a 2 minute walk away. Talked with the locals in there and saw some unbelievable pieces of art.

Checked into the Pelham House resort around noon and just sat back, watched the ocean, watched some NCAA march madness, and enjoyed life. Went to a sensational dinner on the Pelham House Rooftop later in the night.

Makes me very happy to be in the cape, there is no place in the world like it.
